Little Cyclone softball experienced a resurgence under Meghan Von Behren – who just completed her second season at the helm of the program.
Record Season Finish
Ames finished with its best record since the 2002 season when ended the season with a 22-19 mark overall. That included wins over five teams in regular season rankings. The Little Cyclones return 82% of plate appearances next year.
Most Career Home Runs
For the 2022 season, junior Ireland Buss exploded the record to now be the title holder of most career home runs with a total of 19. Buss also broke the school’s runs scored and slugging percentage records.
Awards & Honors
The Ames softball team has six all-CIML Iowa selections. Senior pitcher, Alexa Kopaska earned 2nd all-time in school’s single season pitcher wins & 5th all-time in school’s single season strikeouts.
