Former Ames High and Iowa State standout Erica Lynn Douglas has been named the head boys and girls track and field coach in the 2022 season.

State titles
Team & IndividualThe girls track and field program has won five state outdoor titles in its history. The Ames boys program has a storied tradition with 20 state team titles and 125 individual titles – more than any other program.

Place State Team FinishIn 2022 the girls team finished 6th with just two points separating the third and ninth place team standings.
1st Place
4×200The 2021 4×200 state champion team of Ireland Buss, Ali Frandsen, Cameron Moon, and Eli Lynch return to defend their title in 2022.

On the Iowa All-Time ListIn 2022, Corey Phillips threw 195-10 in the discus achieving a new school record and runner-up at the State Meet plus 7th on the Iowa All-Time list.
